1:1 Appointments
The Counselling and Mental Health Advice Service is open throughout the year, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4.30pm, except when the university is closed at Christmas and Easter.
In order to provide you with support that meets your individual needs, we ask you to book a STAR (Support, Triage, Advise Refer) Appointment, so that you can tell us a bit about what the current situation and what support you are looking for. These 30-minute STAR appointments are available Monday to Friday between 9am and 4:30pm.
Click here to Book a STAR or for support with the booking system, contact firstpoint:
- Email firstpoint
- Telephone firstpoint: 01905 54 2551
* Please note, the Booking system will show STARS up to 14-days in advance. If none are showing, you can check back the next day for an available slot. Cancellations will also be reflected on the system as well. *
Other ways to contact us:
- Email cmh@worc.ac.uk and someone will usually reply within two working days
- Phone 01905 542832
Urgent Triage Appointment
Urgent appointments are available each weekday. These are bookable on the day only, via firstpoint. These short appointments are restricted to newly emerging situations but which do not require urgent medical attention. Staff can also contact firstpoint to discuss concerns regarding student wellbeing and whether a triage slot may be suitable.
Accessibility
The Counselling and Mental Health Service are keen to offer accessibility to suit student need.
We are located on the ground floor of the Woodbury building with disabled parking directly adjacent to the building entrance and consulting room doors wide enough to allow wheelchair access. The University’s Disability and Dyslexia Service is able to provide hearing loops for students with a hearing impairment.
Additionally we are also able to offer appointments online via Teams. The only thing we ask is that you ensur eyou are in a confidential space with good internet access.
Further assistance and guidance regarding accessibility is available on the University’s AccessAble webpage and App.
Appointments are available during our core service hours from 8.30am until 4.30pm. The time restriction on the Service is due to current University policy on arrangements for lone working, and is regularly reviewed with the Head of Student Services. We are available throughout the year meaning we can offer appointments for students on professional courses (e.g. teaching, nursing).
The Counselling & Mental Health team does not provide an emergency service and so is not available at the weekend or outside normal working hours; in emergencies, students should access NHS services.
We are committed to continuous improvement of accessibility and this is reviewed annually.
