You may be required to undertake a number of assessments or examinations during your course. We’ve included some information and helpful links under the sections below to help you navigate assessment processes, such as what happens next if you need to complete a reassessment, how to make an academic appeal and understanding academic misconduct.

If you want to appeal an academic decision, firstpoint can help you to understand the process. We are happy to discuss how to make an appeal and provide guidance on eligibility and on what grounds you may apply. You can access the Registry Services guidance here for more information on this process.

Though many students may not deliberately engage in academic misconduct during their assignments or exams, it’s important to understand the university’s policy and process involved in allegations of academic misconduct and plagiarism. Remember, you’ll find lots of help and guidance across the university.

Find out more information about submitting assessments, who to contact if something goes wrong and links to the Registry Services dedicated examination pages.

Our Disability & Dyslexia Service have published further guidance and deadlines for each exam period, if you need support in setting up reasonable adjustments.

You may need to complete reassessments, either due to mitigating circumstances or because you have failed an assessment. Help is available to make sure you understand how to access your results and the next steps if you need to resit an assessment or complete a module retake.
