There may be occasions during your course where you feel you would benefit from some extra support, advice and guidance. We have plenty of specialist services and teams available for you to speak to and help build your confidence in studying at university.

Sometimes things do go wrong. In most cases matters can be resolved quickly and informally at a local level. If you continue to be dissatisfied with the response then you can submit an academic appeal or a formal complaint.

Our IT helpdesk can offer support to get you connected and help keep your data safe during your time at university.

Mitigating circumstances are the procedures you can use to tell the University that something is preventing you from submitting your work in the normal way. Support and advice is available on our webpages here.

You will be allocated a Personal Academic Tutor (or PAT) once you begin your studies.
Their role is to support you in relation to your course, understand your course’s approach to learning, skills development and assessment. They can assist with identifying your learning needs and develop useful study strategies.
