Students’ Union
Worcester Students’ Union have created a useful housing guide to provide essential information, guidance and advice on renting in the private sector during your time at university. You can also have support via their Academic and Welfare advice service by completing the online enquiry form.
Residential Life Team
The residential life team are part of the Accommodation Service and are available to help with accommodation queries at the University of Worcester. They can help you settle in, find your way around and signpost you to University regulations and support services.
Summer Accommodation
Summer accommodation is offered from June to early September. This includes bed and breakfast, self catering and group travel deals. Rooms are available on the St Johns and City Campus. To book accommodation email the conferencing team at conferencing@worc.ac.uk or telephone 01905 542121.
Updating my address
If you have changed your address, telephone number or email address, you can update your record on your SOLE page. Under the ‘personal details’ section of your SOLE page you will see the option ‘my address details’. In this section you can edit your term time address, home address, telephone number and personal email address. After you have saved any edits, your student record will be instantly updated.

Prayer Rooms

Access to Learning Fund
The University Hardship Fund is called the Access to Learning Fund. It is a non-repayable grant administered by The University of Worcester to help eligible students who are experiencing financial difficulties. In particular help is given to students who may be financially disadvantaged.
Transport
There are a range of transport services available to utilise for travel to, from and while staying in Worcester. You can find information on where to store your bike, locate a bus or train timetable and access information on parking at campus via the link above.
Students’ Union
The students’ union currently supports students with the cost of living via the ‘breakfast with the SU’, free period products and the community food cupboard. Students can also book an appointment with an advisor to support them in making an application for the Access to Learning Fund.
Data Management Unit
The Data Management Unit manage communications with the student loan company and the NHS LSF. They will confirm attendance and registration as well as manage any change of circumstances needed with these funds. Car parking
For information about where you can park on campus, please visit the car parking webpages. Further information regarding the parking permit or pay & display options can be found on the car parking information webpages. This can be accessed from the car parking icon on your myDay page.
Bikes
Worcester City Council has partnered with Beryl Bikes to offer access to bikes on a pay-as-you-go basis. There are safe storage options for bikes on all University campuses. Further information can be found on the transport webpages.
Train
If you are a full time student aged between 16 and 25 you can apply for a student railcard which offers you 1/3 off eligible rail fares. You can apply online or at a train station and full details regarding the rail card can be found on the railcard webpages.
Bus
To purchase tickets, including bundle, semester or academic year options, you can download the First Bus app. When registering, please ensure you use your university email address in order to access the University of Worcester rates.

PAT
Students are allocated a Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) at the start of their course. It is the role of the PAT to support and guide the student’s academic, personal and professional development throughout their university journey. Timetabling
You can view your timetable by clicking on the ‘Timetable’ icon on your myDay page; this applies to most courses, but there are some exceptions, and your course team will advise you of this. If you have only recently registered or made your module selections, there will be a delay of up to 5 working days before your timetable is updated. Blackboard will update overnight, so you should have access to module information by the following day.

The Students’ Union provides a free, independent, confidential and impartial advice service to all students at the University of Worcester. Disability and Dyslexia Service
The University’s Disability and Dyslexia Service supports students in arranging reasonable adjustments for lectures, exams, and assessments, during placements and when living in University accommodation. If you are taking a module which requires you to have a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check or need a replacement certificate for a course required DBS check, firstpoint can advise you on the application process. Admissions

Update Service
The DBS update service allows applicants to keep their DBS certificate up to date and an employer or the university to check a DBS certificate. For some courses it is a mandatory requirement to register your certificate on the update service. Centre for Academic English and Skills
The team can give practical advice on how to improve your academic writing skills by giving personalised feedback. To arrange a personal tutorial where specific questions can be answered and comments provided on samples of your work, follow the book your tutorial link.
Writers in Residence
The professional team offer confidential, one-to-one tutorials for students in all subject areas. They support all aspects of writing including essays, reports, theses, dissertations or personal statements. Sessions are 50 minutes long and can be booked via the details provided on the Writers in Residence webpages.

Technology Enhanced Learning Unit (TEL)
TEL provides a specialist service managing and maintaining many student learning platforms. They have provided an extensive range of online guides, manuals and instructional videos which can be freely accessed on demand to provide information on the use of all the different systems. I have a question about placements
PLAST
The Placement Support Team (PLAST) support nursing, midwifery and allied health students. They are there to plan and record your placements and offer advice, they also provide assistance to any of our placement providers. The team can be contacted via the self service portal.
Worcester Business School Placement Support
Worcester Business School courses may offer a “sandwich year”, combining work experience with study. It is your responsibility to source your placement. Our Work Placement & Internships Office will support you in your search and help with CV’s, applications, and post relevant placements to Blackboard. Work placements need to be a minimum of 36 weeks excluding holidays. You should be working full-time whilst on placement. You can get in touch with the Placements Office on placements@worc.ac.uk.
Education Placements
Students must refer to their course handbooks to confirm the contact details for the team providing support, advice and guidance while on education placements. The professional administrative team (PAS) can be contacted via email on education@worc.ac.uk
Vaccinations
Spire Occupational Health provides all health checks and vaccinations for students who require these for placement purposes. These vaccinations are advised to students by Registry Services at the start of the course. To contact Spire Occupational Health, please see their contact webpages.
Admissions
There are mandatory requirements related to courses where placements are an integral part of the course. Through the application, offer and registration process you will be led through the health, vaccinations and DBS checking process. Student status letter
If you are a fully registered student, the University has prepared a letter that will confirm your status as a student. It will include your name, address, your course and the dates of your study. Before you print your letter, please make sure that your address is up-to-date; you can do this from your SOLE page, under the ‘Personal Details’ tab. Your student status letter can be downloaded from your SOLE page, under the ‘Living’ tab.
Council Tax Letter

Academic Transcripts
Student Records can provide interim or replacement transcripts for a small charge. This document confirms your programme of study, dates attended, duration of course and awarding body. Counsellors and Mental Health Advisers
People talk to Counsellors about whatever is of concern to them in their lives, which may be preventing them from being how they want to be. The Mental Health Practitioners are here to help and support you with any pre-diagnosed mental health condition, or an emerging mental health problem.

Complaints
We understand that sometimes things do go wrong. The University would like the opportunity to help put it right. A complaint can be made in relation to your experience as a student such as issues with accommodation, teaching provision or facilities. Students must enter a complaint within three months of the event using the Formal Complaint Form and this can be sent to complaintsandappeals@worc.ac.uk.
Appeals
An appeal is a request from a student to review an academic decision of a Board of Examiners. If you wish to appeal a grade or other academic decision, you should follow the Student Academic Appeals Procedures.

Report a Concern and Sexual Misconduct Reporting
