Crafternoon

Take a break. Get creative. Meet new people.

Looking for a calm, friendly space to unwind? Join us at Crafternoon, a monthly creative wellbeing session where you can try simple craft activities, relax, and spend time with other students.

No artistic ability is needed. Whether you’re a keen crafter or haven’t picked up glue and scissors since primary school, you’re welcome to join us.

What is Crafternoon?

Crafternoon is a relaxed monthly wellbeing event designed to help students:

  • Take a break from academic pressures
  • Meet new people in a welcoming environment
  • Try creative activities in a low-pressure setting
  • Make time for self-care and relaxation
  • Enjoy a few hours away from screens and deadlines

Each session features a themed creative activity alongside opportunities for free crafting, creativity and conversation. Based on sector practice, the focus is on enjoying the creative process rather than producing a perfect finished product.

2026/27 Programme

Crafternoon takes place on the first Wednesday of the month, and runs for three hours between 12noon – 3pm.

Each month will feature a different creative theme. Activities are designed to be beginner-friendly, relaxing and open to all students. No previous crafting experience is needed.

Why creativity helps wellbeing

Creative activities can help us slow down, focus our attention, practise mindfulness and take a break from everyday pressures. Crafternoon is not about artistic talent or creating a masterpiece. It’s about making space for creativity, connection and wellbeing. The proposal specifically emphasises beginner-friendly, low-pressure activities that support relaxation and engagement.
